And we're back!

Updated: Jul 2, 2021

Weddings are here again, and oh what a feeling..

Last month saw our long awaited return to doing what we do best, and what a glorious thing it was. The world is opening up again, couples are finally saying "I do", and the sounds of laughter and music are filling the air. We kicked off the wedding season with two absolutely wonderful couples who had big days too beautiful not to share.

Katie & Adam

Our first post lockdown date was at All saints church, playing the wedding ceremony of Katie and Adam, presided over by the lovely Father Ned. This was a really magical day for a couple who were so in love it brought tears to our eyes as well as all of their guests!

Katie looked absolutely radiant walking down the aisle to Jackie Wilson's Higher & Higher and the church was filled with 30 of the couples nearest and dearest family and friends. Father Ned, who led the service, has been a close friend to the bride Katie's family since she was a child, which meant the blessing was personal, full of memories and overflowing with love. One of the highlights for Ste, when he reported back on the day, was watching Adam the grooms face as he began to sing Boxes by the Goo Goo dolls. This had been a top secret special request from our bride to surprise Adam, and I absolutely loved organising it. It's these personal touches that really make our day, and hopefully yours too!

The couple left the church to the tune of Shining light by Ash (another beautiful choice) and out into the bright May sunshine to start their next great adventure together. As far as a return to work goes, we really couldn't have asked for a more life affirming day than this!

Congratulations Katie & Adam, it was a total joy!

Michelle & Joe

The next wedding of the season was at the breath-taking Meols Hall in Southport, where Ste played an afternoon drinks set for Michelle & Joe. This was such an incredibly special day to be a part of, as the couple had been forced to delay their big day no less than four times due to the Corona virus pandemic. Luckily the sun was shining, their loved ones were there, and the day they so much deserved went off without a hitch.

It was an incredibly idyllic afternoon out in the stunning courtyard at Meols, and watching the guests blissfully chatting and some new in laws having a dance in the hazy afternoon heat was the stuff that dreams are made of. Ste played two beautiful chilled out sets of music, perfect to fall in love to, and our couple made a great choice with a special request of Lets stay together by Al Green. We also tailor made the back ground music set lists for the day, including some other favourites of the bride and groom, like Big Yellow taxi by Joni Mitchell and Magic by Coldplay.

It's so fantastic to be a part of any wedding, but there's definitely something extra touching about seeing a couple who's big day has been affected so by the pandemic finally getting to say I do.

Cheers Michelle and Joe, we wish you all the light and luck in the world for your future together!

So there we have it, we're officially back and feeling on top of the world to witness your love stories again! Roll on Sunday when we'll be singing for another set of fabulous humans and filling the room with sweet melodies. To all our couples still to come, a great big cheers, we can't wait to see you soon!
